How to Change Your Password Recovery Email or Phone

Overview

When you first create a DealerCenter account, you’ll be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) using an email, a phone number, or both. These options are used to verify your identity when logging in and to recover your account if you forget your password.

You can update your MFA recovery email and phone number at any time. This article shows how to edit those recovery options from your profile page. Note that your recovery email or phone number can be different from your contact email address on file.


Edit Password Recovery Email or Phone

  1. Click your Account Menu in the top-right corner of DealerCenter. This displays your initials.
  2. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.

  3. On the Profile page, go to the Security Info tab.

  4. In the Recovery Options section, click the edit icon next to your current email or phone to make changes.

  5. Enter your new recovery email address or mobile phone number. Then click Send Code to verify the new contact method.

  6. Check your email or SMS for the verification code and enter it in the field provided to confirm your changes.
